Intraday Calls for 31st July

Nifty Support 4420, 4360 and Resistance 4500, 4560.
Sensex Support 15200 and Resistance 15380, 15500.

Market opens with a gap up about 100 points & will remain positive whole day if RBI's Credit policy SLR unchanged or cut in SLR then market will boost.

Markets Today

The markets ended the day on a flat note amid volatality after seeing a rally of over 200 points in the noon trade. Turnover was low and the breadth was in the favour of declines. Banking and FMCG stock ended higher. However, realty, metal and IT stocks ended in green.
Top gainers on the Sensex were HUL, SBI and Ambuja Cements.
Top losers on the Sensex were Hindalco, ITC and Mah and Mah.
Reliance Energy surged after winning the bid for Sasan Ultra Mega Power Project.
The rupee was
trading at 40.51, the dollar has not been able to maintain its strength.
SBI gained after delivering strong Q1 operational performance on Saturday and HUL was up on the buyback news.
Sensex was up 26.34 points or 0.17% at 15260.91, and the Nifty down 5.15 points or 0.12% at 4440.05.
About 1488 shares have advanced, 1415 shares declined, and 78 shares are unchanged.
The BSE Midcap Index ended at 6,618.99 up 21 points or 0.3%.
The BSE Smallcap Index ended at 7,941.75 up 15 points or 0.2%.
The BSE Bankex was up 1.7% at 8,055.14. Federal Bank, SBI, UTI Bank, Andhra Bank, IOB moved upwards.
The BSE Capital Goods Index was down 0.4% at 12,698.97. Suzlon Energy, Crompton Greave, Siemens, Praj Industries, Kalpataru Power, BHEL closed lower.
The BSE Health Care Index was down 0.24% at 3,682.47. Sterling Bio, Orchid Chemical, Pfizer, Nicholas Pirama, Cadila Health closed lower.
The BSE Auto Index closed at 4,943.50 down 0.4%. Apollo Tyres, Mah and Mah, Escorts, Tube
Investment, Cummins closed higher.
The BSE Metal Index closed at 11,381.27 down 1%. NALCO, Hindalco, Mah Seamless, JindalStainless, SAIL closed lower.
The BSE FMCG Index closed at 1,945.26 up 1%. HUL, United Brewerie, United Spirits, Colgate, Nestle closed higher.
BSE Oil and Gas Index closed at 7,980.75 down 0.4%. IOC, BPCL, Reliance, Petronet LNG ended in red.
The BSE IT Index lost 0.6% at 4,876.34. Patni Computer, Financial Tech, HCL Tech, Tech Mahindra closed lower.
The NSE cash turnover was at Rs 11224.89 crore and the NSE F&O turnover was at Rs 44285.38 crore. The BSE cash turnover was Rs 5040.84 crore. Total market wide turnover was at Rs 60551.11 crore.

Markets Today

The markets closed in deep red tracking global peers. It was third biiggest single day fall for Sensex in absolute terms. Sell off was seen in markets across the globe. European markets outperformed other markets. The fall was initiated by US markets due to months of worry about the mortgage and corporate lending markets.
Asian markets ended gloomy. Taiwan was the top loser closing with a loss of 4%.
The market breadth was extremely weak on brisk turnover. Midcaps were not spared either and saw a huge sell off.
Real Estate, metal, cap goods, media were the worst hit. Sugar stocks did good for themselves. BSE Metal and realty index is down over 4%, followed by banking and capital goods index down over 3%
Nifty Futures widened to 50 points.
The fall was initiated by cracks in US markets. Dow plunged 311.50 points, or 2.26 percent, to 13,473.57, after falling 449.77 in earlier trading. The close was its worst since the 416.02 points it lost on Feb. 27.
The plunge was seen in US on concerns that higher corporate borrowing costs would curb the rapid pace of takeovers that had driven stocks higher this year. Investors also feared the sluggish environment for home sales and continued defaults in subprime loans would spur debt defaults and weigh on corporate earnings.
Sensex closed down 541.74 points or 3.4% at 15,234.57 and Nifty closed down 174 points at 4445.
The BSE Midcap Index ended at 6,598.32 down 192 points or 2.8%.
The BSE Smallcap Index ended at 7,926.45 down 219 points or 2.7%.
The BSE Bankex was down 3.2% at 7,920.19. Canara Bank, Bank of Baroda, Oriental Bank, PNB, HDFC Bank moved downwards.
The BSE Capital Goods Index was down 3.8% at 12,748.77. Alstom Projects, Gammon India, Astra Microwave, Jyoti Structure, BHEL, Reliance Infra closed lower.
The BSE Health Care Index was down 2.6% at 3,691.36. Sterling Bio, Matrix Lab, Lupin, GlaxoSmithKline, Wockhardt closed lower.
The BSE Auto Index closed at 4,943.50 down 3%. Ashok Leyland, Escorts, Tata Motors, Hind Motors, Hero Honda, Tube Investment closed higher.
The BSE Metal Index closed at 11,501.52 down 5.3%. Tata Steel, Shree Precoated, Hind Zinc, Hindalco, SAIL closed lower.
The BSE FMCG Index closed at 1,927.86 down 0.1%. United Brewerie, Dabur India, HUL, United Spirits, Bata India closed higher
BSE Oil and Gas Index closed at 8,015.75 down 3.7%. ONGC, Reliance Natura, Petronet LNG, Reliance, HPCL ended in red.
The BSE IT Index lost 2.5% at 4,876.34. Mphasis, Patni Computer, Financial Tech, HCL Tech, Satyam, Wipro closed lower.
The NSE cash turnover was at Rs 15450.73 crore and the NSE F&O turnover was at Rs 65777.96 crore. The BSE cash turnover was Rs 6596.79 crore. Total market wide turnover was at Rs 87825.48 crore.

Markets Today

The markets spiked in the late trade after witnessing sluggish trade for most of the day on triple witching day. The turnover was at record high of 1 lakh crore.
It has been a spectacular July series for the markets. Today on F&O turnover side, marketwide turnover hit record high for the third day.
Nifty was up 8% in July series so far; it has been record F&O turnover for last 3 Days
Relaince Energy, Sail, L&T, BHEL were among the top series gainers.
In today's trade HDIL was up 7%, Unitech was up 4%. In the Nifty gainers: Ranbaxy Up 9%,Cipla, Tata Power,HCL Tech Up 4%
CNX IT Up 2%; TCS Up 3%, Infosys Up 2.5%

The BSE Midcap Index ended at 6,790.50 up 35 points or 0.5%.
The BSE Smallcap Index ended at 8,145.86 up 90 points or 1.1%.
The BSE Health Care Index was up 1.5% at 3,788.36. Ranbaxy Labs, Wockhardt, Cipla, Wyeth, Opto Circuits closed higher.
The BSE Auto Index closed at 5,096.44 up 1.5%. Maruti Udyog, Mah and Mah, Bajaj Auto, MICO, Escorts, Ashok Leyland surged.
The BSE IT Index gained 2% at 5,001.24. Mphasis, Wipro, TCS, Infosys, Satyam advanced.
BSE Oil and Gas Index gained 1.5% to close at 8,325.19. Reliance, Essar Oil, HPCL, GAIL, ONGC closed in green.
The BSE FMCG Index gained 0.8% at 1,930.08. Dabur India, P and G, Godrej Consumer, HUL, Marico, Colgate were among the gainers.
The BSE Metal Index lost 0.2% to close at 12,139.71 and BSE Capital Goods Index was down 1.4% at 13,247.03.
The BSE Bankex was down 1.2% at 8,185.52.
The NSE cash turnover was at Rs 15438.55 crore and the NSE F&O turnover was at Rs 79995.85 crore. The BSE cash turnover was Rs 5727.04 crore. Total market wide turnover was at Rs 101161.44 crore.
